I bought the Snowdrop Collection from Faby Reilly, which consists of a Needlebook, Scissor Case and Biscornu.
The patterns call for 32ct antique white but the linen options are not great in my city (Halifax, NS) so I raided my stash and found this 32ct linen by Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie. I think the colour is Snowdrifts. The only thing I’m missing for finishing is the felt for the needlebook. I really like how the stitching looks on this linen.
Here is the biscornu that I made for the Town Clock Stitcher’s Brown Bag Surprise Challenge.
Last night was the last Town Clock Stitchers meeting until September. We have our “June Social” in a couple of weeks and there are two more stitch-ins. In July there is an exhibit at Scott Manor House in Bedford the week of Monday, July 28 to Sunday, August 3.
I was quite pleased with myself. My first biscornu completed. Granted it is not perfect, but for my first attempt I am ok with it. I stuffed it, closed it up and set it down on the table next to my chair. I don’t have any buttons to finish it with yet. This morning when I was getting ready for work I saw the the biscornu on the floor in my room. One of my cats has decided that it should be a cat toy instead. Luckily it wasn’t pulled at, only transferred from one room to another. I rescued the biscornu from the floor and set it on top of my bureau. I should have put it away in something, but was in a rush. If I find it on the floor again I suppose that will tell me that they think a little too strongly that it should be a cat toy.
